Başlık : Efficient and Secure On-Chip Power Delivery

Abstract

Efficient generation, distribution, and management of on-chip supply voltages require fundamental changes to the power delivery process to provide increased current within a constant power budget in the next generation ICs. Recently, the proliferation of high-density on-chip voltage regulators in high performance ICs has enabled new circuit topologies and control techniques. Distributed power delivery has become a promising alternative to existing power delivery techniques, efficiently providing high quality power.
In this talk, some of the recent research results on the design and management of on-chip power delivery systems will be presented. Existing efforts from industry related to distributed power delivery will be reviewed. A recently proposed on-chip power delivery architecture, converter-gating, will be discussed. In this technique, individual voltage converter stages are adaptively turned on and turned off based on the workload information to concurrently achieve: i) high power efficiency and ii) high security against side-channel attacks. A brief background on side-channel attacks against integrated circuits will also be provided.
